R&R Ice Cream and CEO Ibrahim Najafi have each won a top regional business award within the same week.
Some 200 guests from the world of manufacturing gathered at the Royal Armouries in Leeds for the Made in Yorkshire Awards and to reward those businesses making a difference and flying the flag for Yorkshire and Britain.
Summed up as “an incredible business which raises the reputation of the region”, R&R won the Food & Drink Manufacturer category with UK Country Manager Mike Fraine and HR Director Neil Millan collecting the award.
Adam Lovell, editor of Yorkshire Business Insider, which organised the awards, said: "These awards recognise the efforts to propel growth, break into overseas markets, develop new concepts and train young staff to be the industry leaders of tomorrow. Manufacturing remains important to the continued economic recovery of the UK and certainly to Yorkshire. Everyone deserves a lot of praise for the work they are doing."
In addition, Ibrahim Najafi won the Business Leader of the Year award for a private equity backed business at the inaugural Yorkshire Business Leaders Awards, which took place at the Millennium Gallery in Sheffield. The ceremony rewarded those who are making a significant contribution to their companies and the wider Yorkshire region, also recognising the talented entrepreneurs making a vital contribution to economic growth.
