Cheshire Young Carers enjoy a visit to an Ice Cream Factory
A group of 25 young carers organised by Cheshire Young Carers has enjoyed a VIP tour of R&R Ice Cream's Skelmersdale site (formerly Frederick's Dairies). The tour was offered by R&R at a charity event where it was bought by M&S Bank who donated the prize to Cheshire Young Carers.
Alan Jones, Mentor Services Co-ordinator at Cheshire Young Carers said: "All our young carers do a fantastic job looking after loved ones who face challenges including physical disability and mental health issues. This huge responsibility can impact significantly on a carer's health and well-being and we are here to support and help them, so days out like this really help give them a much needed break."
"Cheshire Young Carers are massively grateful to both M&S Bank and R&R Ice Cream for making this visit possible and everyone enjoyed it, particularly the opportunity to create their own ice cream cone."
Steve Hempstock-Lowe, R&R's Q&A Manager at Skelmersdale, said "We were delighted to offer this prize and it was enjoyed by the whole party. The group had a full tour, lunch, the chance to create their own ice cream cone, an ice cream quiz and took away a certificate of their visit, ice cream vouchers and their favourite products from the freezer cabinet."
