Froneri started the year by announcing a major sponsorship deal for its Maxibon® ice cream sandwich brand which became Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s official T20 partner at all the Yorkshire Vikings’ home games in the NatWest T20 Blast season. It is the first time any of Froneri’s brands have sponsored cricket in the UK and the sponsorship was part of a £550,000 campaign to reach the brand’s target market of young male adults.

Overall, buoyant product sales in late 2016 continued into 2017 with brands such as Nestlé, Cadbury and Kelly’s of Cornwall all performing well. fab® celebrated its 50th birthday with a special limited edition which proved to be the most successful lolly launch of the year while another new product – Rowntrees Froots, a circular lolly with 25% fruit juice – also proved a big hit.
